Introduction to the Globalization of Beauty and Normative Standards in Aesthetics

In recent decades, a global beauty boom has dramatically reshaped perceptions of bodies worldwide. This book synthesizes interdisciplinary insights from various fields to delve into this phenomenon, integrating empirical studies with theoretical discussions that span continents and cultures. It challenges conventional norms through its exploration of diverse case studies, ming to provoke insightful debates on the standardization of bodily aesthetics in a globalized context.

The editors and contributors of this volume have gathered together perspectives from social anthropology, sociology, cultural studies, ethnic studies, media studies, ger studies, and more.
